Your day begins with you and your guest being picked up at
your place of choosing prior to heading out to a predetermined
location on the Bow River for a trip that will be truly spectacular.
Depending on fishing conditions we may begin at either the 22X
bridge in Fish Creek Park, Policemen Flats (south east of the
city) or McKinnon Flats, which is aprox. ½ way between
Calgary and Caresland. Most float trips originating in Calgary,
take place on the river downstream between the City and the
hamlet of Carseland. This is about forty river miles of superb
trout habitat. There are a number of different floats done on
this stretch of river, and a typical day trip might cover anywhere
from five to twelve miles of river. The Bow River offers up
the chance to fish for some excellent Rainbows and Browns. It
is very common to catch both types of these fish in sizes upwards
of 20”. Gone at Dawn practices Catch & Release on
all water we fish. The fishing day typically ends at or near
dark in order to optimize your chances at having a successful
trip. At days end you will be returned to the location where
you were picked up.
